Call for Posters
for the OPA Annual Convention Poster Session at the Concourse Hotel, Columbus - October
31, 20078

The Ohio Psychological Association invites undergraduate
and graduate students and faculty conducting research on psychology-based
topics to present poster summaries at its annual Convention, October 29-31,
2008. Posters may report on empirical (quantitative or qualitative) studies
or non-empirical theoretical/review projects. This year’s poster session
will offer special recognition to undergraduate and graduate students who
have the most exemplary posters. Three prizes will be awarded: best graduate
empirical project, best graduate non-empirical project, and best
undergraduate poster. Lead authors of winning posters will be given:
- a cash prize
- an opportunity to highlight the research in a 2009
issue of
The Ohio Psychologist
- one-year free membership to the Ohio Psychological
Association, and
- free admission to the 2009 OPA Annual Convention
(October 21-23, 2009, Quest, Columbus)
The poster session will be held on Friday, October 31,
2008 according to the schedule below. Award winners will be announced during
the luncheon on Friday.

Posters will be judged on the following: professionalism,
conceptualization, methodology (empirical only), conclusions and overall
contribution to the discipline.

An online entry form may be downloaded
and submitted now. One free lunch is included per poster
entry. Additional lunches are available for $15, and can be requested up to
one week before Convention.

Applicants will be informed of their entry acceptance at
least two weeks prior to Convention. Submission of proposal signifies
that you will present on Friday, October 31, 2008.
Include the following information so that we may review
your proposal:
- Name, address, e-mail and phone number
- Your status (faculty, graduate, undergraduate)
- Faculty advisor name if you’re a student
- Academic or college affiliation
- Note if poster is empirical/non-empirical
- Title of research
- Abstract (50 words or less)
- If you have presented this research elsewhere, indicate
where
- $25 presentation fee (includes backboard to display
poster on)

Association.
