Consumer Referral Program

Welcome to the Ohio Psychological Association (OPA) Statewide Psychologist Referral Service. The Referral Service is a listing of licensed psychologists in the State of Ohio who are members of OPA. This public service of OPA is supported by those psychologists who have chosen to pay a fee to list their information. The listing of psychologists' specialties is based on self-reporting. Therefore, OPA does not warrant the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of the information contained in the OPA Referral Service nor in any way does OPA endorse any particular psychologist listed in the Referral Service. You should verify any information and make a determination as to whether a particular psychologist is appropriate for you.

The Ohio Psychological Association provides this service as a way for you to find psychologists* who are located near you and who may provide the services you want. You may select by county, by ages of clients seen, and by the specialty areas associated with your concerns. You will receive a list of psychologists whose self-described services match with your needs.

You may broaden or narrow your search to find a different, larger, or smaller selection of psychologists.

OPA suggests that you consider contacting the office of more than one psychologist by phone before choosing one with whom you wish to make an appointment. You may want to ask about the psychologists' experience with patients' clients with problems similar to yours, the cost of services, their training and types of services provided.

Please remember that many psychologists will be in session with patients/clients when you call, so you may need to leave a message as to where and when the psychologist can return your call.

* Psychologists are professionals with five or more years of doctoral training in mental/behavioral health in a graduate psychology program. Psychologists in the OPA Referral Service are licensed in the State of Ohio. Psychology licensing in Ohio is generic. Psychologists provide testing (assessment), psychotherapy, consultation and other services. Psychologists do not prescribe medication.
