Psychologists are required to earn 23 credit hours of continuing education, with 3 hours being in a course or courses that focus on professional conduct and ethics.

Following are the criterion for approval of a professional conduct/ethics course by the OPA-MCE office that will fulfill the 3 hours of professional conduct/ethics now mandated for license renewal {amended ORC 4732.141 (2)}. Courses must focus on at least one of the following issues:

  • Risk Management Issues
  • Confidentiality
  • Ethics of Supervision
  • Boundaries
  • HIPAA Requirements
  • Dual Relationships
  • Professional Impairment
  • Financial Ethics
  • Limits and Expansion of Competencies
  • Representation of Training and Credentialing
  • Specific ethical principles listed in the APA ethical principles of psychologists and code of conduct manual
  • Ohio Rules of Professional Conduct, Section 4732.17
