OPA Governance and Staff

Governance

OPA is governed by a Board of Directors of voting members elected by the membership of the Association. Five elected officers (President, Past-President, President-Elect, Finance Officer and the Representative to APA Council) serve on the Executive Committee. The Board is comprised of the officers, the chairs of the standing committees, the OPAGS Chair and the six regional representatives. Chairs of subcommittees, functional committees, task forces and liaisons from affiliated special interest groups also regularly attend Board meetings. If you are interested in becoming a member of the executive committee, review the Election Timeline and Reference Guide. The committees and task forces focus on a variety of issues pertaining to psychology including education, communications and technology, ethics and colleague assistance, social responsibility, public education, advocacy, diversity and more.

Staff

OPA’s central office has five full-time employees and one part-time director of professional affairs.
