Executive Committee Committees/Task Force Chairs Meeting Minutes
Catherine A. Gaw, Psy.D. , President
Catherine A. Gaw, Psy.D., is a clinical psychologist specializing in the evaluation and treatment of children, adolescents and families at the Cleveland Clinic. In addition to working with behavioral and emotional difficulties, Dr. Gaw has expertise in the area of autism spectrum disorders. She develops and conducts social thinking skills groups for children and teens on the autism spectrum and co-facilitates a multidisciplinary healthy lifestyle treatment program, Fit Youth, designed for families of overweight children and teens. She is a member of the American Psychological Association, APA Division 53, American Orthopsychiatric Association, Autism Society of America, Play Therapy Association, and has been involved with the Cleveland Psychological Association (CPA) Board of Directors as chair of the Interprofessional Relations Committee, diversity project and as the representative to the Ohio Psychological Association (OPA). Dr. Gaw’s involvement with the OPA includes membership on the Advocacy and Mandatory Continuing Education Committees, chair of the Oral History Project, past regional representative from the Cleveland Psychological Association and past member of the Public Education Committee.
Craig S. Travis, Ph.D. , Past President
Craig
S. Travis, Ph.D., is director of behavioral sciences for the Mount
Carmel Family Practice Residency in Columbus, Ohio. He trains family
physicians in understanding behavioral and psychological issues in
medicine and health. He is also a clinical faculty in the family
medicine department in the college of medicine at The Ohio State
University and an adjunct faculty at the University of Dayton. He is a
member of the American Psychological Association, American Counseling
Association and the Society for Teachers of Family Medicine. Dr. Travis
has led numerous corporate and public presentations in health
psychology. He has 15 years of experience in private practice,
psychiatric inpatient, community agency and medical environments.
John Rudisill, Ph.D., OPA President-Elect

A graduate of Indiana University, Dr. John Rudisill is professor emeritus
and former dean of the Wright State University School of Professional
Psychology. He is a generalist with expertise in both clinical and
organizational psychology. His professional experience includes having
been director of the division of applied psychology at Wright State
University School of Medicine, chief psychologist and program director
at Dayton Mental Health Center and director of the Air Force Mental
Health Clinics at Seymour-Johnson and Clark Air Bases. Dr. Rudisill has
consulted with numerous public and private organizations. He has a
variety of publications in medical education, organizational and
clinical practice as well as supervision and mentoring of students. He
is a Fellow of the Division of Independent Practice and the Society of
Consulting Psychologists in the American Psychological Association. He
is a former president of the Dayton Area Psychological Association and
has been a member of the board of directors and committee chair of the
Ohio Psychological Association. Dr. Rudisill has been awarded a
diplomate in professional psychology (clinical) by the American Board of
Professional Psychology. He has received the Academy of Medicine Senior
Faculty Award for outstanding contributions to medical education and
research. Dr. Rudisill has served in leadership roles on the board of
directors for a number of community and social service agencies.
Cathy L. McDaniels-Wilson, Ph.D. , APA Council Representative
Cathy McDaniels Wilson, Ph.D., is an assistant professor in the department of psychology at Xavier University. She is the director of dialogue at the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center in Cincinnati, Ohio. She is also in private practice in Columbus, Ohio, where she works extensively with survivors of sexual trauma.
Jim R. Broyles, Ph.D. , Finance Officer; Finance Committee Chair; Co-Disaster Response Network (DRN) Task Force Chair
Jim Broyles, Ph.D., is a psychologist in private practice in the Central Ohio area, where he works with individuals, children and families. Dr. Broyles received his Ph.D. from The Ohio State University. In addition to his work as a clinician, he also presents workshops and teaching sessions for professionals on how to counsel young people and families on LGBT issues. Dr. Broyles has a background as both a teacher and school psychologist, and has served as the past chair of OPA's LGBT Task Force.
Committee/Task Force Representatives and Liaisons

Robin Arthur, Psy.D., Education Committee Chair
Dr. Robin Arthur is the chief of psychology at Lindner Center of HOPE
mental health hospital in Mason. She was part of the clinical team that
created Lindner Center of HOPE. She received her undergraduate at
University of Cincinnati, her master’s in industrial/organizational and
doctorate in clinical psychology from Xavier University. Dr. Arthur is
an assistant professor in University of Cincinnati College of Medicine
Psychiatry Department. She practices Dialectical behavior therapy,
positive psychology and psychodynamic techniques with adults and
adolescents. She has been a business owner for 20+ years and consultant
to the business community, as well as doing executive coaching. Dr.
Arthur also has a background in nursing and in the performing arts. She
has lectured on countless topics locally and regionally including tweens
and self-esteem, how women can nurture themselves and one another,
women in leadership and parenting techniques children of all ages,
personality disorders, Ayurvedic lifestyle and mindfulness. She is a
past Board member of Cincinnati Academy of Professional Psychology and an
adviser to INTERalliance of Cincinnati and Three Generations of Women in
Technology (3GWIT).
Kathleen Ashton, Ph.D., Committee on Social Responsibility Chair; Public Education Campaign Coordinator
Kathleen Ashton, Ph.D., is the chair of the Ohio Psychological Association’s Committee on Social Responsibility and Public Education Campaign Coordinator. She is a health psychologist at the Cleveland Clinic Bariatric and Metabolic Institute and Sleep Disorders Center. Dr. Ashton received her Ph.D. from The Ohio State University, and completed her internship in health psychology at the Cleveland VA Medical Center and fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation. Dr. Ashton’s clinical and research interests include binge eating disorder, bariatric surgery evaluation and perioperative treatment, insomnia, weight management, the relationship of stress to physical illness, and women's health. She has presented extensively to the public about the effects of stress on health, and to psychologists on the importance of public outreach.
Dr. Bonem is a clinical psychologist who has trained to work with both children and adults. He earned his master’s and doctoral degrees from Michigan State University and his bachelor’s degree from Antioch College, and has completed internships in family therapy, child psychotherapy and pediatric psychology. Dr. Bonem is a member of the American Psychological Association and Ohio Psychological Association and is a past-president of the Cleveland Psychological Association. He has a special interest in child behavior disorders, with expertise in attention deficit-hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), a subject on which he has presented extensively. In addition, Dr. Bonem works with a variety of adolescent and adult difficulties including anxiety, depression, adjustment disorder and marital dysfunction. He serves as clinical director of Psychological & Behavioral Consultants. (Beachwood, North Olmsted)
Colin Christensen, Ph.D. , Akron Area Professional Psychologists (AAPP) Representative
Colin Christensen, Ph.D., is a psychologist with Fordyce and Associates in Canton. He specializes in working with children, adolescents and their families. Dr. Christensen earned his BS from Texas Wesleyan University and his M.A. and Ph.D. from the University of Akron. In addition to being the Akron Area Professional Psychologists representative to the OPA Board, he also is a member of the OPA Diversity Committee and the OPA Membership Committee.
Kenneth P. Drude, Ph.D., Communications and Technology Committee Chair

Kenneth Drude, Ph.D., is
chair of the Communications and Technology Committee and has served on the OPA
Board as chair of various OPA committees and elected board offices for 30 years.
He has worked in management and clinical positions in a variety of work
settings including small and large mental health centers, hospitals, social
service agencies and a university. He currently provides outpatient
psychological services to children, adolescents and adults in Dayton and
Springfield.
Michele Evans, Ph.D., Foundation for Psychology in Ohio Chair
Michele Evans, Ph.D., earned her B.A. from Duquesne University, her M.A. from Oklahoma City University, and her Ph.D. from Ball State University. Dr. Evans completed an internship at The John D. Dingell VA Medical Center where she participated in neuropsychology, chemical dependency, counseling and partial hospitalization rotations. She furthered her training by focusing on psychological assessment in a private practice setting during her post-doctoral year. In addition to completing psychological assessments at her own private practice and doing psychotherapy with nursing home and assisted living facility residents through Senior Life Consultants, Dr. Evans is a member of the adjunct faculty at Capital University and a member of the medical staff at Grady Memorial Hospital. Dr. Evans began her involvement with The Ohio Psychological Association as a student and she encourages students and early career psychologists to become involved with OPA. She serves on the Advocacy Committee and The Committee on Social Responsibility, in addition to chairing the Foundation for Psychology in Ohio board.
Robin Graff-Reed, Ph.D., Business of Practice Network Representative
Dr. Robin Graff-Reed received her Ph.D. in clinical psychology from Miami University of Oxford, Ohio in August 2004. Prior to earning her doctoral degree, Dr. Graff-Reed completed a one-year clinical internship with the Cincinnati Veterans Health Care System, as well as a number of clinical training rotations in community settings and university counseling centers. After completing a post-doctoral fellowship with the VHA’s National Center for Organization Development, she is currently a staff psychologist and OD consultant for NCOD, where she participates in a variety of work place interventions including organizational assessments, work group facilitations, individual executive coaching assignments, leadership development and employee satisfaction. She brings a positive-psychology and interpersonal/developmental perspective to her understanding of individual performance.
Terry Imar, MA , Mandatory Continuing Education (MCE) Committee Chair
Terry Imar, M.A., received his graduate degree from Kent State University in 1971 and has been in practice in Ohio since 1975. Prior to entering full-time private practice in 1981, he was clinical director of North Central Mental Health Center in Columbus. He has previously chaired OPA's Continuing Education Committee and OPA's Ethics Committee. Mr. Imar is in general practice, working with adults, adolescents and children. He is a member of the medical staff of Grady Memorial Hospital in Delaware, where he is chief of the psychology service.
Priscilla Kingston, Ph.D., Professional Practice Committee Chair
Priscilla Kingston, Ph.D. is in a group private practice in Parma, Ohio working with individuals and adults. She also does contract work for the VA in Brecksville where she previously developed a substance abuse program for women veterans. She has a clinical psychology PhD from the New School University and a master's in developmental psychology from Teachers College Columbia University. In addition to chairing the Professional Practice Committee, she is a member of the OPA Diversity Committee.
Dennis Kogut, Ph.D., Toledo Area Academy of Professional Psychologists Representative
Dr. Kogut earned his Ph.D. in clinical psychology from the University of Toledo. Shortly thereafter, he founded the mental health practice that developed into Central Behavioral Healthcare, of which he is President. He developed and co-facilitates the CoPE program, which assists divorcing and divorced parents to refocus on the welfare of their children rather than on conflict between them. Dr. Kogut specializes in psychotherapy for phobias, anxiety disorders, obsessive compulsive disorders, panic disorder, depression, relationship issues, and marital problems. He is an examiner for the Bureau of Workers Compensation and the Industrial Commission of Ohio, where he serves as a consultant for disability determination. Because of his many years of collaboration with primary care physicians, he receives referrals to help people suffering from both medical and psychological disorders and assists with adjustment to chronic illness.
Wanda McEntyre, Ph.D., Diversity Committee Chair
Kim Metz, Ph.D., Science Committee Chair
Dr. Kimberly Metz earned her B.S. and Ph.D. in
clinical psychology from Ohio University. Following her internship at
William S. Hall Psychiatric Institute in South Carolina she worked as a
staff psychologist at the South Carolina Department of Juvenile
Justice. She returned to Ohio in 1996 where she continued her clinical
work at a community mental health center and later at a private
practice. During this period Dr. Metz also gained 10 years of teaching
experience as an adjunct faculty member at Baldwin Wallace College. In 2005, she joined the full time faculty ranks at Walsh University. She
continues to maintain a small private practice.
Steve Nichols, Ph.D., Cincinnati Academy of Professional Psychology Representative
Trevor Petersen, M.S., Ohio Psychological Association of Graduate Students (OPAGS) Chair
Trevor Petersen,
M.S., is a fourth year clinical psychology graduate student at Ohio
University. His experience includes undergraduate teaching as well as
clinical work with diverse populations at varied settings including a
residential treatment center, clinical boarding school, elementary
school, departmental clinic, and college counseling center. His research
interests range from psychosocial predictors of substance use severity
and treatment outcomes among adolescents, to increasing college
students’ stress management skills. He has actively presented his work
at state and national conferences. Trevor is a graduate student
affiliate of APA, APA Division 12, ABCT and MHEDIC. He currently serves
on the graduate representative committee of his department, the Ohio
University President’s Advisory Council for Campus Safety, and the Ohio
University Graduate Student Senate.
Alice Randolph, EdD, M.S. Clinical Psychopharmacology+, Prescription Privileges (RxP) Task Force Chair; Federal Advocacy Liaison
Alice H. Randolph, EdD, M.S., clinical psychopharmacology, is a psychologist who owns Psychological Transitions, a group practice that provides psychological services to residents of nursing homes and assisted living programs. She is an accomplished speaker and is recognized for her work in Medicare regulations and compliance. She has been a member of the Ohio Psychological Association Board of Directors since 1997.
Lynn Rapin, Ph.D. , Personnel Committee Chair
Dr. Lynn Rapin is counseling and consulting psychologist practicing in Cincinnati. Dr. Rapin has served as the chair of the Personnel Committee for seven of the last eight years, providing volunteer consultation to the OPA executive director and staff. Lynn's work with OPA has focused on developing strengths of the staff to maximize work potential within a positive work environment. Dr. Rapin is a past president of APA Division 49, Group Psychology and Group Psychotherapy, and is a past president of the Association for Specialists in Group Work, a division of the American Counseling Association. In her consulting practice, Dr. Rapin specializes in longer-term organization interventions with social service agencies and non-profit organizations. In her private practice, Dr. Rapin works with adults and adolescents.
Peg Mosher received her doctorate in counseling psychology from Kent State University in 1992. Prior to entering full-time independent practice in 1998, Dr. Mosher was a co-owner of a comprehensive group practice in Worthington, Ohio. She served as clinical director and director of employee assistance programs and services. Currently, Dr. Mosher's areas of clinical expertise include trauma and victimization, mood disorders, stress and anxiety management, gay and lesbian relationships and grief and loss. Dr. Mosher is active in several professional organizations, including APA, EMDRIA, ISST-D and COPA. In addition to her position on the OPA Board, Dr. Mosher also serves on the membership committee.
Brad Potts, Ph.D., OPA Advocacy Committee Chair
Lynne C. Rustad, Ph.D., was a research biologist before entering the graduate program at Case Western Reserve University from which she received her doctorate in clinical psychology in 1975. She obtained specialty training in the emerging field of behavioral medicine on the Spinal Cord Injury Unit of Cleveland VA Medical Center where she collaborated in the development of an innovative group program in sex re-education and counseling for cord-injured people. As a staff member, after moving from the SCI Unit to Cardiology Section, she continued for several years to provide psychological services to the medical center Sex Dysfunction Clinic and served on the Task Force on Sex and Disability of the American Congress of Rehabilitation Medicine. Throughout her career, her clinical, training and research focus has been on the psychosocial and psychophysiologic aspects of medical illness. She provided consultation to acute and intensive care units and the HIV-AIDS program; was a member of the heart, liver and lung transplant teams and the Critical Care Committee and developed outpatient group programs in cardiac rehabilitation and congestive heart failure. Concerned about the growing impact of medical technology on seriously ill patients and their families, Dr. Rustad obtained training in bioethics and, in 1987, co-founded the Cleveland VA Bioethics Committee, serving as chair of the evolving program and Chief of the Bioethics Consultation Team until her VA retirement in 2005. Prior to that retirement, she was a member of the Headquarters working group that revised the VA national end-of-life policy. Dr. Rustad was also a founding member of the Bioethics Network of Ohio, serving on the BENO Board and chairing the Research Committee for many years.
Rose Mary Shaw, Psy.D. , Dayton Area Psychological Association (DAPA) Representative
Rose Mary Shaw, Psy.D., is a clinical psychologist with the University Psychological Services Associates, Inc., with offices in the Dayton and Columbus area, where she has established an integrative health and wellness practice, working cooperatively with family physicians and local wellness practitioners. She also serves on the clinical faculty at the Wright State University, School of Professional Psychology. Dr. Shaw is also the principal officer of the Transitional Life Counseling: Assessment and Consultation firm, where she conducts independent medical evaluations. Dr. Shaw earned her doctorate in clinical psychology from the Wright State University and completed post-doctoral training in neuropsychology at the Indiana University, School of Medicine, Department of Neurology. She is a member of the Ohio Psychological Association Board of Directors and the current president of the Dayton Area Psychological Association. She is a member of the OPA Science Committee, and is active in the promotion of behavioral sciences at the high school level through involvement with local, regional and state Ohio science fairs and the Ohio Academy of Science.
Thomas P. Swales, Ph.D. , Political Action Committee Chair
Thomas P. Swales, Ph.D., ABPP is director of the Psychological Assessment Center at MetroHealth Medical Center, and an assistant professor of psychiatry, psychology and pediatrics at the Case Western Reserve University. He is Board-certified in clinical neuropsychology by the American Board of Professional Psychology. Dr. Swales has served as president, secretary and treasurer of the Cleveland Psychological Association.
Elizabeth Swenson, Ph.D., J.D., Ethics Committee Chair
Elizabeth V. Swenson, Ph.D., J.D., is a professor of psychology at John Carroll University. She holds a Ph.D. from Case Western Reserve University and a J.D. from Cleveland State University. Dr. Swenson teaches professional ethics, planning for graduate school, and legal issues in psychology to undergraduate students. She is chair of John Carroll University’s Institutional Review Board where she routinely reviews student and faculty research proposals for safeguards to human participants. Dr. Swenson has been a member of the American Psychological Association Ethics Committee, Ethics Code Revision Task Force and Continuing Professional Education Committee. She is a consultant/evaluator and Accreditation Review Council member for the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association. She is a licensed psychologist, but instead practices law in Cleveland, Ohio, in the area of child protection and advocacy.
Mary Ann Teitelbaum, Ph.D. , Ohio School Psychologists Association (OSPA) Representative
Sally Wilson, Ph.D., Cleveland Psychological Association Representative
Dr. Wilson is in private practice in Pepper Pike, where she provides clinical consultation to adults, children, teens, couples and families and offers assessment services to prospective clergy and human services professionals. She is the child psychology consultant to the English Nanny and Governess School of Chagrin Falls. Dr. Wilson studied psychology at Cornell and Purdue Universities and has post-doctoral training in health psychology. She has taught psychology at Kent State University, John Carroll University and Kenyon College, and has guest lectured at other institutions. Dr. Wilson worked in school psychology in her early practice career. She has chaired the OPA Ethics and Colleague Assistance Committees, served as president of Ohio Women in Psychology and Cleveland Psychological Association (CPA) and chaired the CPA Marketing Committee.
