12 CEs (total for two days); ACT is a parenting and child maltreatment prevention program directed by the American Psychological Association. Participants will learn how to facilitate the 9-session program designed to improve parents’ and caregivers’ understanding of child development; roots and consequences of violence in children’s lives; positive parenting and prevention skills such as anger management, positive discipline, problem solving, and prevention of exposure to violence. The workshop is directed by Michele Knox, Ph.D., Clinical Psychologist, Asssociate Professor of Psychiatry, and ACT Great Lakes Regional Center Director.
