Obsessive internet and video game playing is becoming a major concern among parents, educators and mental health professionals. Can the over-use of these mediums for recreation and communication really be considered addiction? This 3 CE course will seek to answer this question, discuss the serious consequences associated with these obsessions, and identify the various ways that children are at risk for suffering from emotional, psychological, social and academic problems due to the over use of these mediums. Treatment options will also be identified and explored.
