Description:
This workshop will introduce participants to the Gestalt model of couples therapy. Students will learn how couples work as a system to create their patterns of communication, and how they, as therapists, can teach client couples to become aware of their systemic patterns that are counterproductive and convert them into more fruitful ways of interacting. The workshop will include lecture, discussion, experiential exercises and practice labs.
Faculty:
Alan Federman, MA, has a Master’s degree in Clinical/Counseling Psychology from Akron University and is a Licensed Social Worker. A graduate of the Gestalt Institute of Cleveland, he is licensed as an Independent Chemical Dependency Counselor and has been in private practice since 1987. In addition, Alan teaches psychology at several local colleges.
Lester Wyman, PhD, LISW-S, LCSW, is a social worker, privately practicing as a psychotherapist and organizational consultant.He trains Gestalt practitioners and trainers internationally.
