What Has OPA Done For You Lately?
  • SB314 introduced: authorizes the Director of the Department of Rehabilitation & Corrections to designate a limited number of appropriately trained psychologists to prescribe medication
  • Post election - Key OPA staff and lobbyist meet new legislators
  • OPA Convention attended by over 370 psychologists, students, office staff and exhibitors was a resounding success
  • Theme, dates and location for 2011 Convention announced: "Psychology in the Global Era: Embracing Career Development", October 26-28, 2011 at Cherry Valley Lodge in Newark
  • Forty-four posters were presented in annual OPA Poster Session. Four students were recognized with top awards, two honorable mentions and a People's Choice Award.

  • Sent 124 reminders to register with OPAMCE to psychologists who had been registered last biennium and had not yet registered for 2010-2012 biennium.  Late registration fees began December 1st.
  • Sent final notices to approximately 325 members who have not yet renewed
  • Held a very successful Small College Roundtable
  • Honored four Ohio businesses with the PHWA and many deserving psychologists during the Annual Awards ceremony
  • Converted the OPA MCE office to a new, electronic fax system which will help facilitate smoother service for the 3000+ registrants who submit tens of thousands of faxes each biennium
