The Ohio Psychological Association invites undergraduate and graduate students and faculty conducting research on psychology-based topics to present poster summaries at its annual Convention, October 23-25, 2012. Posters may report on empirical (quantitative or qualitative) studies or non-empirical (theoretical/review) projects.

Posters will be judged on the following: professionalism, conceptualization, methodology (empirical only), conclusions and overall contribution to the discipline. Download the detailed list of criteria.

This year’s poster session will offer special recognition to undergraduate and graduate students who have the most exemplary posters. Four prizes will be awarded: best graduate empirical project, best graduate non-empirical project; best undergraduate poster; and, the People Choice's Award. Registration is open to the first 50 accepted posters. Friday, October 5 is the last day to submit posters for consideration.

Cost is $25 for OPA student members and $35 for non-members. Payment includes ONE lunch (co-author, advisor and additional lunches are $20) and a backboard to display your poster on.

Lead authors of winning posters will be given:

a cash prize
an opportunity to highlight the research in a 2013 issue of the Ohio Psychologist
one-year free membership to the Ohio Psychological Association, and
free admission to the 2013 OPA Annual Convention

The poster session will be held on Friday, October 25, according to the schedule below. Award winners will be announced during the luncheon on Friday.

Applicants will be informed of their entry acceptance or denial no later than October 11, 2012. Upon acceptance, you will receive an email confirmation containing further instructions and directions to the venue.

In the event your entry is not accepted, payment will be refunded in full no later than November 1, 2012.
